Virgin names Booth as new team principal
Manor's founder John Booth will replace Alex Tai as the team principal of Virgin Racing.
Tai's Formula One career proved to be short lived as he was only revealed in the position at the team's launch last month. Booth headed the outfit when it was running under the name Manor and was working as sporting director while Tai was team prinicipal.
Virgin said the move was "part of the planned evolution of the team and continued development of the business", with Tai returning to Virgin and his "passion for new ventures".
Tai said his work at the team was done and that he was looking forward to moving onto a different project in Sir Richard Branson's company.
"Finding new opportunities and the challenge of starting new ventures is where my focus and interest lies," he said. "I am proud that we have taken the team from concept to reality in a short period of time and I am confident that Virgin Racing will be in trusted and experienced hands."
Another Manor veteran, Graeme Lowdon, becomes the CEO of Virgin Racing.
