Toro Rosso fitness trainer Raniero Gianotti has died from a heart attack at the age of 46.

Gianotti was cycling with friends in the Marche region of Italy on Sunday when he passed away. He was Rubens Barrichello's trainer at Stewart and Ferrari before moving to Toyota to work alongside Jarno Trulli. From there he switched to Toro Rosso where he trained Sebastian Vettel and more recently Jaime Alguersuari and Sebastien Buemi.

Alguersuari tweeted: "Today I've lost a brother. Raniero will always be on my heart. I've reached everything thanks to him. He will always be on my mind. I love you Raniero."

Barrichello also paid tribute to Gianotti on Twitter: "It was so sad when I received the news that my great friend and physio Raniero passed away this morning. Heart attack while he was on his bike. We worked together at Stewart GP and Ferrari...he also worked with Vettel, Buemi and Alguersuari. RIP Raniero ... I will miss you ..."
