Robert Kubica is expecting Bridgestone's tyre choice and the weather to have a big effect on the German Grand Prix this weekend.

The super soft and hard tyres will be available to the teams at Hockenheim, the first time Bridgestone has brought two compounds so wide apart in their range. Kubica believes it could shake up strategy on Sunday, especially if the teams' understanding of the tyres is restricted by a lack of dry running on Friday and Saturday when rain is predicted.

"I think it will be tricky, and definitely the weather can have a big influence," Kubica told Speed in Hockenheim. "Even if it's dry, it depends on the temperature, on the track conditions, which will have a big influence especially on the soft tyre, but also on the hard tyre. So it looks like a tricky weekend from the tyre point of view. For racing it might be something different, it might be difficult. To be honest it's difficult to say what will happen and how big an influence it will have on the show."

He added that it was hard to know where Renault would end up in the pecking order after a difficult British Grand Prix saw Kubica retire for the first time this season.

"It's very difficult to predict," he said. "In Silverstone our gap was quite big compared to the top cars, and we struggled much more in qualifying. We'll have to see. A lot of people are bringing F-Ducts and blown floors, so it's getting quite a difficult task for us."

Renault has yet to introduce its F-duct, with its first version expected at the Hungarian Grand Prix or possibly after the mid-season break at Spa Francorchamps.

"A lot of teams are getting on top of the F-Duct, now their F-Ducts are working properly, so again it will be I think quite a difficult weekend from the performance point of view. As I said before it's difficult to judge and get a proper idea."
