Hamilton battle intensity will not change - Rosberg
Nico Rosberg does not believe the recent furore over Mercedes team orders will change anything about his title battle with Lewis Hamilton this season.
The fallout from the Hungarian Grand Prix has been centred around the order issued to Hamilton to move over for team-mate Rosberg due to their differing strategies, something the Englishman refused to do. Though he refused to comment on Hamilton's refusal, Rosberg admits that and the fact he was unable to find a way past in the final laps has left a bitter taste.
"I'm not so excited about going into the summer break, as we speak," Rosberg said. "Hopefully I will be excited, but it's going to take some time. We have to discuss internally. That's the best way forward for us as a team. It doesn't make sense to now comment on that in the media."
Despite his clear annoyance at what transpired at the Hungaroring Rosberg does not foresee a change in the way the title battle is fought between the two.
"It's going to remain intense, definitely, but that's natural because it's both of us going for race wins every race. And that it's going to be intense is clear, and it will remain so until the end of the year, I hope to all your happiness and excitement. The intensity is an ongoing process we need to manage."
When asked if he would have done the same thing in Hamilton's position, Rosberg replied: "I'm sorry that's not something that's relevant now to discuss. It's hypothetical, theoretical, it's not relevant."
