Lewis Hamilton says McLaren cannot take its recent pace for granted at this weekend's Singapore Grand Prix, as Formula One returns to a high-downforce track layout.

McLaren has won the last three races at three different styles of track with Hamilton winning at the high-downforce Hungaroring, Jenson Button winning at the medium-downforce Spa Francorchamps and Hamilton taking a second victory at the low-downforce Monza. But Hamilton is wary of his rivals bringing updates and warned that McLaren might not be as competitive as it returns to running its high-downforce rear wing.

"The most important thing is not to get excited about the pace we had in the last race because it's going to be different this weekend with a different wing. Fernando [Alonso] said his team is going to be bringing an update this weekend so I hope that we have something to combat that.

"We had a different wing that we used for the last two circuits and we probably won't be using that for a while now. But we're going back to the wing we had in Hungary and provided that it's working and we've improved the car elsewhere we should be able to compete with people."

Before answering questions with journalists, Hamilton said he would not be commenting on his future and that nothing had changed since the last race. However, he said the atmosphere back at McLaren's base had been very positive when he visited the factory after Monza.

"The atmosphere is fantastic and the guys are incredibly geared up to challenge and fight for this world championship," he said. "Instead of wearing their victory tops for one day they wore them two or three days, which is great. They've obviously got a great sense that we've had some great performances over the last few weekends and are thinking 'jeez, we've got to push like crazy because we might be able to do this'."
