Webber expects Saturday progress from Red Bull
Mark Webber expects Red Bull to make progress on Saturday ahead of qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix.
In Friday's second practice session Webber was only 11tn quickest and his team-mate Sebastian Vettel 13th as Red Bull appeared to lack one-lap pace. Webber admitted that the team wasn't as competitive as he'd like on low fuel, but said historically Red Bull has managed to find performance overnight in time for qualifying.
"We are working hard, not quite there yet," Webber said. "A little bit more competitive on the long run with the fuel in but we've got a bit of work to do with the fuel out. So, we're normally not Friday world champions so we'll do a bit of work tomorrow ... I think we generally find a good step on Saturday."
When it was put to Webber that Mercedes looks competitive at Monza, he said that wasn't a concern of his with McLaren a bigger threat in the championship standings.
"Yeah, but they're not our rivals. There's some other guys, different colour cars - well same colour cars - but I haven't looked at who's quick and who's not, we're just focused on ourselves."
