FIA unable to prove Ferrari guilt, says Todt
Jean Todt said that a lack of evidence prevented any further action being taken against Ferrari over the team orders incident after Wednesday's FIA World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) hearing in Paris.
"Before you say you're guilty, you need to be able to prove that you're guilty," said Todt on a video interview on the BBC website. "I mean everybody there has denied that it was a team order."
When told that everybody watching was in no doubt that team orders were issued, Todt responded; "I tend to agree as well. You should ask the people who have been deliberating to that."
The FIA president also said that the issue was not whether the team should lose its points but which driver should have finished first and which second.
"I feel that Ferrari were first and second, nobody can say in which order it should have been. The decision was in the order that they finished the race."
