Alonso among F1 stars signed up to Massa's kart race
Felipe Massa's annual charity karting event is set to go ahead this weekend with a grid full of F1 superstars including Fernando Alonso.
The International Challenge of the Stars has taken place each year since 2005 on a circuit near Florianopolis, with Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello among the past champions. This year Massa will be joined by his Ferrari team-mate Alonso as well as 2012 F1 drivers Bruno Senna and Kamui Kobayashi and Force India test driver Jules Bianchi.
Ex-F1 drivers Tonio Liuzzi, Jaime Alguersuari, Sebastien Buemi, Lucas di Grassi, Nelson Piquet Jnr, Antonio Pizzonia, Ricardo Zonta, Luciano Burti and Enrique Bernoldi will also take part in the three-day event. Alguersuari will be defending his title after winning the event last year.
The youngest driver on the grid is Pietro Fittipaldi, the 16-year old grandson of Emerson Fittipladi.
