Susie Stoddart was successful in karting, winning the 24hr Middle East Kart Championship and Scottish Junior Intercontinental "A" title in 1997, and while championships were hard to come by after that she was named British Woman Kart racing driver of the year four years in a row before being awarded the title of top female Kart driver in the world in 2000.
She then progressed in to single seaters, moving on to the Formula Renault UK championship and finishing 5th with three podiums in 2004. The following year she stepped up to Formula Three but only competed in two races that season before she switched to DTM in 2006. After two years with Mucke Motorsport Stoddart joined Persson and her best year to date came in 2010 when she finished 13th in the championship in a 2008-spec car.
Stoddart remained with Persson in to 2012, but entered this season under the name Susie Wolff having married Williams shareholder Toto in the October of 2011. In April of 2012 she was also named development driver for Williams, bringing her DTM experience to the team to help in the simulator along with the promise of a full track test.
