Profile
Slim used the money he gained from his musical exploits as Abba's drummer to go racing. He contested the 1978 European Formula Three series and he finished third overall in 1979, a year when Alain Prost was champion. Practically the whole of 1980 was spent trying to raise the cash to race in Formula One, and so he made his debut in 1981 with ATS, scoring his solitary point for his sixth place in the British Grand Prix. His money ran out after only three races with Tyrrell in 1982 and Slim's greatest success since has been in truck racing.
