Bruno Senna's race seat at Campos looks to be safe after the team's weekend buy-out and US F1 driver Jose Maria Lopez has emerged as a favourite to join him.

Jose Ramon Carabante revealed his fellow team-owner Adrian Campos had sold his share of the team to him on Friday and that Campos himself had been replaced as team principal by ex-Force India boss Colin Kolles. The new ownership said the driver line-up would be announced in "due-course", although it appears as though Senna's position at the team is safe after he met with Carabante and Kolles on a yacht in Alicante. It is well known that he is effectively getting the drive for free and reports suggest he will not be expected to bring any new sponsors to the team, although additional funding "would be welcome".

Meanwhile, Lopez is rumoured to be eyeing the second Campos seat, after it emerged that his US F1 team are in trouble and looking to miss the first four races of the season. The latest speculation suggests he is in talks with YouTube boss Chad Hurley about switching allegiance from the beleaguered US-based squad to Campos. Lopez has a number of personal sponsors and it is understood they want to be represented at all the grand prix this season, including the season opener in Bahrain.

Indian driver Karun Chandhok also appears to be in the running for the position alongside Senna, although he has also been strongly linked to Stefan GP - the Serbian team still hoping to be given a 2010 grid spot. Andy Soucek, who had long been linked with a place at Campos, is now expected to be confirmed as a Virgin test driver to replace Alvaro Parente, whose personal sponsorship has fallen through.
