Sauber must target win - Perez
Sergio Perez says Sauber has to target "the podium or the victory" in the Belgian Grand Prix.
Both Sauber drivers qualified in the top four, with Kamui Kobayashi second and Perez promoted to fourth following Pastor Maldonado's grid penalty. Perez revealed that he had some problems that prevented him from being competitive in the final part of qualifying, but that he would be eyeing his first grand prix victory in the race.
"It was a bit bad - my lap in Q3 - the car performed quite differently and we are still analysing what went wrong," Perez said. "I lost two tenths to my lap in Q2 and the car was performing in a very different way, it was quite unpredictable so that's why I couldn't put a very good lap together. But anyway, P5 (before Maldonado's penalty) is a good position for tomorrow, and the target for tomorrow has to be the podium or the victory."
Having been in a position to win in Malaysia but finished second, Perez admits the main target has to be for Sauber to grasp any opportunity that presents itself on Sunday.
"Tomorrow is important to get the maximum, that is the target for the whole team. If we can finish P4 then we will finish there, but if we can go for the podium then we will go for it. We are in a good position but we need to bring the points home and maximise our potential."
