Rubens Barrichello says he will make a decision on whether he'll race in IndyCar or not "soon".

Barrichello tested for KV Racing at Sebring for two days at the start of this week, with a newspaper report claiming that he also carried out a further half day on Wednesday. Having impressed during the test Barrichello admitted that he was still unsure how things will progress having not spoken to the team owner about the 2012 season.

"I don't know how things are going to move forward now," Barrichello told O Estado de S.Paulo. "I have not spoken with Jimmy Vasser about racing in the season.

"What is certain is that it (the speculation) will not last long. Whether I race or not will be known soon. There is a lot of work still to do and KV (Racing) needs to know its driver."

While Barrichello had previously promised his wife Silvana that he would not race on ovals, he said he had been receiving her full support during the test.

"She has come here (to Sebring) now and today she was supporting me, seeing how happy I am. Silvana even joked with Tony, saying that he was to blame for all of my enthusiasm."

It is possible that Barrichello could compete without racing on the ovals, with the 15-round 2012 season featuring four only oval tracks including the Indy 500 in May. The season starts with a race in St. Petersburg, Florida on March 25.

As a former employee of the speedway I encourage Rubens to join at least for one season and race at least one oval, the Indy 500. Formula One drives have come to Indy and had tremendous success. He has the support of racing fans all over the world and Indy fans would embrace him too. I'm certain he would fall in love with the atmosphere.

FW won't be able to extract nearly the feedback from their rookies that Ruben's would have provided. FW loss - KV racing gain!

    Like he has a choice......

I go to the 500 every year, and went to all the Indy F1 GPs. Always LOVE to see F1 drivers drop by in any form of racing, so if Rubens makes the move to IndyCar with KV Racing, it'll be fun to see.

Hey, this car kind of looks good.

Leave out all of the other ovals, but you need to race in the Indy 500 if you are going to race in IndyCar. That's like not racing Monaco in F1.

hope he shows that Williams was wrong to let him go. good luck Rubens! now I'm wondering how 2 rookies with zero development experience will help develop the new FW challenger
