Kimi Raikkonen says he doesn't see any team making any significant gains following Friday practice for the Spanish Grand Prix.

With the start of the European season a race where many teams bring major upgrades, Raikkonen said on Thursday that he felt the progress made by each team would be negated by similar improvement at others. After ending FP2 in fourth place - just 0.222s off Sebastian Vettel's best time - Raikkonen said he still feels the order is the same and that one of a few teams could win as a result.

"It doesn't look like it" Raikkonen said. "It's very similar to how it has been before in the races. So it's more about whoever gets it right I think in certain races, certain circumstances, they're the ones that are going to be up there."

Assessing the Lotus updates, Raikkonen said there was too difficult to compare the feeling to the car he took to second place in Bahrain.

"You cannot really compare it because the last time we were here was the winter so obviously the car has changed since then a lot. From the last race you can say every day can be different so it's OK; we have some things we have to improve but that's pretty normal."

Having finished third in Barcelona last year - rapidly chasing down Pastor Maldonado and Fernando Alonso late on - Raikkonen admitted the team had looked at what it might have got wrong on strategy 12 months ago.

"We always look at things that we have done in every race but that doesn't mean that thing will work in a certain way this year. I mean it's a different year, different things and you never know what will happen in the beginning of the race which can change the whole race. We've been pretty OK this year and last year so we'll see."
