Grosjean hit with grid penalty for Ricciardo collision
Romain Grosjean has been handed a ten-place grid penalty for the Canadian Grand Prix after colliding with Daniel Ricciardo in Monaco.
Having already had numerous accidents on his own in Monte Carlo, Grosjean ran in to the back of Ricciardo under braking for the Nouvelle Chicane late in the race. The collision ended Ricciardo's race on the spot - with Ricciardo being heard over the radio saying "You can probably guess the driver" - while Grosjean retired a lap later.
The debris from the incident required a safety car period to clear the track, and after being summoned to the stewards after the race it was announced that Grosjean would face a ten-place grid penalty in Montreal in two weeks' time.
Team-mate Kimi Raikkonen was also summoned to the stewards after the race for setting a time quicker than the safety car delta time when the safety car was deployed, but he escaped with just a reprimand.
