Nico Rosberg says he disagrees with Lewis Hamilton's interpretation of his comments from the Mercedes post-Belgian Grand Prix debrief and believes private meetings should remain internal.

Hamilton revealed to the press that Rosberg said after the race he had not avoided the second lap collision between the pair in order to "prove a point", with Toto Wolff later clarifying the championship leader had not said he made contact intentionally. In a video blog posted to his YouTube channel Rosberg insists he does not see the need to give a public explanation of what happened.

"I've been told what Lewis said in the press and the way he stated his version of events," Rosberg said. "All I can say is that my view of events are very different. It's just better now that I don't now give all the details of my opinion and all that, I hope you respect that. I prefer to keep it internal.

"We have a very good and important discussion after the race. When such things occur we must review them and that's what we did. Everyone gave his opinion and now we need to move forward. There will be another discussion for sure as we need to see if we need to change our approach in future."
