  • July 19, 1969: Jackie Stewart's fifth win in six races left him odds-on favourite for the championship, his victory at the British Grand Prix coming despite him crashing during practice and having to commandeer team-mate Jean-Pierre Beltoise's car.

  • July 6, 1969: Jackie Stewart's inexorable progression to his first world title continued with victory at the French Grand Prix, his fourth win in five races and a result which opened up a 16-point lead over Graham Hill in the drivers' championship.
