Ex-Formula One driver Alex Yoong will head up Lotus' young driver development programme.
The team has yet to name its race drivers for 2010, claiming a deal is done for one position but steering clear of making an official announcement. Yoong will focus on scouting for Asian talent with a view to preparing them for a Lotus drive in the future. He will be joined by Litespeed Formula 3 team principal Nino Judge, who will focus on driver development in Europe
"The young driver development scheme will play a key role in finding and developing future Malaysian drivers," said the team's CEO Riad Asmat. "it is great that Litespeed can play such an important role in that process. There is a lot of raw motorsport talent in Malaysia and as the country's national F1 team, it is our responsibility to bring that to the fore."
The team has also appointed the Motorsport Association of Malaysia's CEO, Mia Sharizman Ismail, as its head of operations in Asia.
