Vettel 'enjoying the moment' as he continues dominance
Sebastian Vettel says he is "enjoying the moment" as he continued his dominance by taking his fourth consecutive victory at the Indian Grand Prix.
Having won the last three races, Vettel was quickest in every practice session, took pole position and led every lap at the Buddh International Circuit to secure victory. The win extended his lead over Fernando Alonso to 13 points as Alonso finished second, and Vettel praised Red Bull's work having pulled away from the rest of the field in the latter part of the season.
"Big thanks to the team, everyone - I said it on the radio - every single one is pushing very hard," Vettel said. "There's not one thing that stands out and makes a difference. Not today, not yesterday but this weekend; I think it's all of us working hand in hand together, if we're here at the track or back in Milton Keynes everyone is pushing hard and I think that's what makes the difference. I'm very happy and glad to be part of that and just enjoying the moment."
Having similarly won from pole in 2011 in India, Vettel described his results as "incredible" and said it was a track which he enjoyed.
"It has been incredible; two years for us both times to come here, get the pole on Saturday and win the race on Sunday; it's fantastic. There's always a very nice trophy so I'm very happy to pick up another nice one this year. A very special grand prix; I don't know what it is about this circuit but I like the flow of it. Sector one is a bit slow with long straights but sectors two and three are really nice and I think we all enjoy that."
Informed that he was the first man since Ayrton Senna to lead every lap for three consecutive races, Vettel admitted his pride at his achievement.
"It's very, very special. We all will remember Ayrton forever, not just because he was successful and he has these kind of numbers speaking for him but he was a great person so I'm very, very happy."
