Massa believes he can remain at Ferrari
Felipe Massa believes he still has "the possibility to sign" a new contract to remain with Ferrari.
Massa's been outperformed by team-mate Fernando Alonso once again this season, and scored only 11 points in the opening eight rounds. However, he's since scored 24 points in the last four races as he shows an upturn in form, and Massa believes he can still convince Ferrari to retain his services if he delivers more consistent results.
"I didn't sign anything for next year yet, but I think we have the possibility to sign," Massa said. "Let's wait and see, I don't know when, but I just need to concentrate on the results, on the race and I think that's the main important thing for my future as well."
Massa also said that improving his qualifying performances slightly would have a big impact on his race results.
"For sure I expected to be in a different position in the championship than I am. But I need to just concentrate on my job which is driving the car, driving the quickest speed I can. I'm frustrated with my qualifying, not with my races, and I'm sure by improving my qualifying a bit I can be very strong in the races and change the results completely."
