Felipe Massa says he is focused on staying at Ferrari for another year and that he now feels much more competitive going into the second half of the season.

Massa struggled to get to grips with the F2012 at the start of the year and scored just two points in the opening five rounds, putting his future at the team in doubt.

His contract runs out at the end of the year, but asked if he was looking elsewhere, Massa said: "When you race for Ferrari you never want to change. It is a big team, it is an important team and it's always a big pleasure to race for Ferrari and that's my target. I think you just really want to race for the team when you feel okay inside the team, and when you don't feel okay you look around. But I feel okay; I feel a lot of love for this team so let's work on that."

And he said he feels much more confident in the car as well.

"After the first two races many things changed, even if in some races I did not have a good result. But I did good races even if I did not have good results and I would say after Monaco it feels very automatic driving the car and I feel very competitive. I think that's the most important thing."

Massa said the German and Hungarian Grands Prix would be important for Ferrari's championship chances with Fernando Alonso as F1 heads for a month-long summer break.

"I think very important, when you see how the championship is going. I think this year especially the championship is so competitive between many drivers and teams so you know how important one result and one race is. Now we have two races ahead of the break and we know that that is very important for the team to keep fighting for the good results the team has been getting at the last few races. It can be enough to win or lose the championship so every race will be very important from now until the last race."
