Perez set for Ferrari test this week
Sauber race driver Sergio Perez will make his debut at the wheel of a Ferrari Formula One car this week.
Perez has been lined up for a test in the 2009 Ferrari for some time and will take to the team's Fiorano test track after two days of simulator work starting on Tuesday.
He will be joined by GP2 driver and fellow Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) member Jules Bianchi.
"Sergio Perez, who joined the Ferrari Academy this year will start with two days working in the FDA simulator," a statement from the team said. "After that, the Mexican youngster who is racing in Formula One for Sauber, will get behind the wheel of an F60 for a session at Fiorano. He will be sharing the cockpit of the car used by Scuderia Ferrari in the 2009 F1 season with another FDA youngster, Jules Bianchi."
In September head of the FDA Luca Baldesserri said the team would use the test to analyse the two drivers.
"It will be a very interesting test, because we will be putting Jules Bianchi and Sergio Perez up against one another," Baldesserri said. "I think they will both be very motivated and for us it will be the perfect opportunity to assess both drivers."
