Felipe Massa is looking to kick start his season in Canada after failing to score points at the last three rounds.

Ferrari team-mate Fernando Alonso scored 43 points over the same period, underlining Massa's struggle.

"Those three races in May did not go well for me," Massa told Ferrari's official website. "I failed to pick up points and my biggest regret came in the last of the three, in Monaco. As Fernando showed, by fighting at the front right to the end, we had a very good potential there and I think I could have finished the race in fourth place.

"Unfortunately, there was the accident with Hamilton, which put me out of the running: a real shame, but there's little point in going over it again. I said what I wanted to about the incident after the race and now it's not worth wasting more time over it, so it's better to look ahead."

He said Alonso's performance in Monaco, where the Spaniard battled with championship leader Sebastian Vettel for victory, gave him hope that he would be competitive at the next two races.

"There was at least one positive aspect to the weekend and that is the fact our car was much more competitive than we had seen it at the previous race," Massa added. "Finally, we could fight all the way to the end, even if circumstances meant that only applied to one of us. Our pace was very good and I hope that will also be the case in Canada and Valencia. We should have some new technical updates there, which along with the softer tyres, should be a help, on paper at least and then we will see what the actual situation is, starting on Friday in Montreal."

Go Massa. U can be at your best (like 2006-2008)

First of all I like Mercedes - it's just FYI. But just in case for the statistic I cannot agree about Massa performances, cause if you remember when he was team-mate with Schumi he has been almost in pace with him, for example Rubens could lose to Schumi in qualify 1-16, but Massa never lost like this. Moreover when he was with Kimi he has won him in qualify, as you remember. I just wanna say that Massa are very fast and competitive driver.

@Rob: yes hamilton did struggle, but driving the way he did in Monaco i don't think he deserves a good car, not doubting him, just needs to be more calm and he can very easily threaten Vettel, Webber and Alonso. Massa is just there at Ferrari to fill the second seat. If they don't dump him, he should leave as there are many other teams like mercedes, Renno and Redbull after Webber leves.

Anyone out there wanna guess if Ferrari really dump Massa, who will b the best driver to team with Alonso? Do ur guys knows why Alonso like Ferrari? Cause in Ferrari they always like to favour to 1 driver and they will never find a better or equal skill driver to pair. So if Ferrari dump Masa, i think Fisichella will b the nxt driver cause they ever team up together during in Reanult.

One of the best drivers on the grid...dont care what anyone sais...if ferrari stop favoring just alonso and start working with massa he will be a threat!...unlike hamilton he doesnt cry bout every race or make a big fuss

@ Rob, I guess your comment is a reply to mine. Only talking about his motivation and his performances. Quite dissapointing sadly.

Good and best wishes, the uphill clim is preatty steep!

Did someone actually say that Lewis never had to struggle with an uncompetitive car? Jesus wept. 2009 anyone? If you only started watching F1 yesterday then stop making comments you know nothing about.

I dont think Massa is going to be the one he was in 2008. I guess Ferrari will dump him soon.
