Kimi Raikkonen has begun work in Ferrari's simulator ahead of the 2014 season, admitting it is "really very useful".

Having returned to Ferrari for the first time since 2009, Raikkonen visited Maranello over the winter but it was only this week that he begins simulator work and spends time with his new engineers preparing for the new season. Ferrari confirmed on its official website that Raikkonen will be spending three days at the team's headquarters as part of his pre-season schedule.

Raikkonen himself said he was enjoying being back at Ferrari and that he wasn't concerned by the busy few weeks ahead of the start of testing in Jerez.

"It's good to be back at work," Raikkonen said. "I began by getting used to all the new systems and procedures that we will use this year. From this point of view, the simulator is really very useful. It's true there's lots to do, but the workload is not much different to what it was in the past. For me, these days in Maranello are also an opportunity to be with the team and spend a bit more time with my many friends here."
