Glock looks to DTM after losing F1 seat
Glock is unlikely to feature on the F1 grid after losing his seat at Marussia with options for non-paying drivers looking slim. However, he may find a drive in DTM and will join the BMW team at its first test in Valencia this week to drive an M3.
"We are pleased to be able to offer Timo Glock the opportunity to get to know our BMW M3 DTM in Valencia," BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt said. "Timo has demonstrated his driving ability over many years, particularly in Formula One. It is made all the nicer by the fact that he is, to a certain degree, returning to his roots in testing for BMW Motorsport."
Glock was a test and reserve driver for BMW when it was in Formula One and also spent some of his earlier career in Formula BMW.
"I have fond memories of my time with BMW Motorsport and am very excited about testing the BMW M3 DTM," he said. "Furthermore, I am bound to see a few familiar faces in Valencia from my previous time with BMW. I am really looking forward to it."
Following the announcement that he was leaving Marussia, Glock received widespread support from fellow F1 drivers on Twitter. In response to a message from Mark Webber saying he would be missed, Glock tweeted: "It has nothing to do with sport!"
