The second test of the 2010 winter season in Jerez next week is likely to be affected by bad weather.
Forecasts ahead of the four-day session at the circuit in south-western Spain predict rain. Wet conditions would severely limit the amount of useful data the teams get from the test, as they continue development work on their new cars.
Williams spokeswoman Claire Williams said her team was expecting "rain for one of the Jerez days". Other forecasts are predicting over 50% chance of rain on all four days of the test. The news is especially bad for Red Bull, Force India and Virgin, who are all set to give their cars their first full test, after they skipped the opening days in Valencia last week.
Also scheduled to test at the Circuito de Jerez until Saturday are Ferrari, McLaren, Sauber, Renault, Toro Rosso, Williams and Mercedes. Another four-day test in Jerez will follow between February 17 and 20, before the final days of pre-season running at the Circuit de Catalunya outside Barcelona late this month.
