Robert Kubica will contest the famous Monte Carlo Rally which starts on January 19.
Kubica, who will race for Renault this season, will drive a Renault Clio R3 with co-driver Jakub Gerber.
"It's no secret that I like rallying so I'm trying this for fun," Kubica said. "Also, there is time in the Formula 1 winter break to do this."
The Monte Carlo event will be Kubica's fourth rally. In mid-November he competed the Sicilian rally Taormina-Messina, and a week later finished 35th in the Ronde Citta dei Mille.
Later that month, he took part in France's Rallye du Var and managed 29th overall. Before Christmas he was scheduled to race the Rally Internazionale Il Ciocchetto, but it was cancelled due to heavy snow.
