Brawn 'would be a great addition' to Williams
Sir Frank Williams says Ross Brawn "would be a great addition" to Williams but has not made any contact over a potential move.
Brawn's future is the centre of speculation at Mercedes, with the team principal reportedly set to leave the team at the end of this season. When the idea of bringing Brawn to Williams - where he started his Formula One career - was put to Williams, he admitted Brawn's experience would make him an asset but that he didn't know if he was definitely going to be leaving Mercedes.
"He's probably learnt as much about what not to do as what he should be doing, so certainly if he were to come here he would be a great addition," Williams told Sky Sports. "In truth I wasn't aware that he was available, I made no effort to contact him and I can say no more."
Williams added that he wouldn't speculate further on potentially bringing Brawn in for fear of concerning his existing staff.
"The reason I'm being hesitant in every way is that I do employ people already. Obviously it's very unlikely that we could afford Ross or whether he would want to come to us etc. All I would be doing if I said 'Ooh, I would love to have Ross' is offend everybody who is at Team Willy already."
