Lotus pace is still there - Grosjean
Romain Grosjean insists the lack of points for Lotus in recent races is not a sign of diminishing performance at the team.
Having started the season with victory, Lotus also secured four podiums in the next four races before a recent run of just 13 points from three grands prix. Despite the team's best finish in the last three races being fifth place for Kimi Raikkonen at Silverstone, Grosjean says last weekend's British Grand Prix showed the performance is still there.
"I think it was circumstance, because clearly at Silverstone we saw Kimi going up to P2 before the safety car and being unfortunate with the last pit stop," Grosjean said. "I think my performance was as good as him until we got the front wing damage, so I think we should have been both up there scoring good points, but again it didn't want to come together."
Grosjean himself has failed to score since his podium in Bahrain, but he said he is still driving well and not getting the results he deserves.
"To be honest there's nothing that I can do better than what I did in Silverstone. Qualifying was really good and the race was really good until the front wing broke, we lost a lot of performance and then from there everything was gone. I'm doing my best and hopefully things will come together."
With Raikkonen racing with the drag reduction device (DRD) at Silverstone, Grosjean added that he was also planning to run the DRD on his car at the Nurburgring on Friday.
