Profile
A commercial helicopter pilot, Mike Wilds started in Formula Three and then Formula 5000 and combined the latter with a series of unsuccessful Formula One drives with a variety of teams. In the eight races he entered he only qualified three times and failed to finish any of them. After failing to qualify for the 1976 British Grand Prix he concentrated on sports car racing and subsequently continued racing at historic car meetings.
