Profile
Gijs van Lennep competed in eight grand prix, with moderate levels of success, however, he is best known for driving in long-distance races. He won the 1971 Le Mans, with Helmut Marko, driving the Martini sponsored Porsche. His final race was at Le Mans in 1976 when he again won in another Porsche, with co-driver Jacky Ickx. There and then he announced his retirement from the sport.
