Profile
He was Portugal's first F1 driver, and entered five grand prix between 1959 and 1964. He finished his debut race, the 1959 Portuguese Grand Prix, in tenth place but failed to finish another race for the rest of his career. In the 1959 race he narrowly avoided an accident that resulted in Jack Brabham spinning into a telegraph pole and being thrown from his car.
