Colin Davis was an advertising executive who raced a Formula Three 500cc Cooper in Britain before he moved to Italy to continue his racing career. He competed in two championship Formula One races in 1959 in a Scuderia Centro Sud Cooper-Maserati, retiring in France and finishing 11th in Italy. He shared the winning Porsche 904 GTS in the 1964 Targa Florio with Antonio Pucci. He was the son of Le Mans winner Sammy Davis, who later became Autocar's sports editor and an influential figure in British motor racing.
