Alan Brown formed the Ecurie Richmond team with Eric Brandon, and took part in nine grand prix. His only championship points came in his first outing in Switzerland in 1952, when he finished fifth. He was an established rally driver when he started dabbling in Formula 2, taking a year away from his job as a truck salesman to further his ambitions. After 1956 he moved into team management with success, before retiring to concentrate on his day job as a car dealer.
