Travis "Spider" Webb competed in four Indianapolis Grand Prix between 1950 and 1954. He only finished one, the 1950 event at the wheel of a Maserati, and dropped out of all the others due to an oil leak. He was a sprint car ace throughout the 1950s and was known for his carefree and larger-than-life approach.
