Esteban became one of the youngest ever Formula One drivers when he started the 1998 Brazilian Grand Prix for Minardi aged 19, but it soon became clear that he had come to Formula One before he was ready after rushing through Formula Three and Formula 3000 in Europe and Japan with no noteworthy results. Shell-shocked by his failure, Esteban is rebuilding his career in Argentina's touring car championship.
