Profile
Formula Nippon champion in 1997, Toranosuke was blindingly fast in his first year with Tyrrell in 1998, but he crashed too much. A move to Arrows for 1999 produced a seventh place, but he stepped back to Formula Nippon in 2000 to rediscover his form. He won almost every race to be champion and signed to race for Toyota in Indy Cars. After racing in the Indy Racing League, Toranosuke is back in Formula Nippon, still fast but erratic.
