Profile

Evans started karting at the age of six and won 13 titles including the Junior class of the CIK Trophy of New Zealand and Rotax Max Series. After those victories he moved up to Formula First for 2007/08, before finishing as runner up in the 2008/09 New Zealand Formula Ford Championship at the age of 14.

Moving across to the Australian Formula Ford Championship in 2009, Evans repeated the success, becoming the youngest race winner in the championship's history and earning the interest of Mark Webber in the process.

The following year Evans won the Toyota Racing Series - making him the youngest ever champion - and then switched to Australian Formula 3, finishing runner up. He repeated his Toyota Racing Series success in 2011 and then left New Zealand to join MW Arden and compete in GP3. Evans won his second race in the series after qualifying on pole, and eventually finished the championship in ninth position.

2012 was the breakthrough year in Europe as Evans won the GP3 Series title with three victories and six podiums, earning him a prize fund from Pirelli and promotion to the Arden GP2 team for 2013.
