One of the great circuits, using public roads west of Reims. By the end, it was triangular in shape, with hairpins at two of the corners and long straights in between, down which slipstreaming groups would run before seeing who dared to be latest onto the brakes into the corners. The Hawthorn/Fangio battle of 1953 was one of the greatest races.
