Profile

Tony came to prominence in 1961 driving for Ken Tyrrell's Formula Junior team when he shared the European Formula Junior title with Jo Schlesser. He was snapped up by Cooper for 1962-63 and, although he finished second in the French Grand Prix both years, he was replaced by Phil Hill and moved to drive a BRM for Scuderia Centro Sud. He drove his final grand prix in South Africa in 1965, then raced in sports cars until he killed a boy in a crash and quit the sport.
