It's less than a month since he joined but Fernando Alonso is already lining up a perk at his new job with McLaren-Honda.
He joins the team from Ferrari this year, giving up his usual Ferrari FF grand prix weekend run-around in the process. But it appears he may have found a possible replacement in the long-awaited Honda NSX.
Following the launch of the new NSX at the Detroit Motor Show, Alonso tweeted two pictures of the new sports car along with the caption "one day we will be together".
Alonso has made no secret that the lure of the McLaren-Honda name and its association with his boyhood hero Ayrton Senna was part of the reason for his return. When Senna was at McLaren he worked with Honda on the original NSX, so it is quite possible the Japanese manufacturer will look for a similar tie-in with its new star driver.
